Therapies
Spa medicine is a discipline that uses the resources the thermal springs offer: mineral waters, mud baths, and caves for therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative purposes.
Inhalation treatments
Diagnosis under agreement:
- Vasomotor/allergic/chronic rhinitis
- Ethmoid Sinusitis
- Rhinosinusitis
- Rhino/sinus/bronchial syndromes
- Corditis (in the various types)
- Chronic pharyngitis
- Chronic pharyngitis/tonsillitis

- Chronic laryngitis
- Polyposis/Sinusitis
- Chronic simple and obstructive bronchitis
Nasal irrigation
It is prescribed for rhinosinusopathies, chronic sinusitis, catarrhal rhinitis, mucus purulent rhinitis, and athropic rhinitis, because the mechanical action of the water jet that cleanses and removes secretions and concretions occupying the nasal passages and nasopharynx is combined with the anti-edemigenous action of the salts contained in it.
Micronized nasal shower
It is used for the cleansing of the nasal cavities as well
but is more delicate and better tolerated than the previous ones. Suitable for children and those with marked mucosal hyperresponsiveness. Nebulized mineral water has greater penetration capabilities and is therefore preferred in diseases of the paranasal sinuses and Eustachian tubes.

Inhalation*
The device produces a relatively homogeneous mist whose particles are mainly distributed in the upper and middle airways (nose, pharynx, larynx). This is a warm and wet treatment for all situations of chronic atrophic and/or catarrhal pharyngo-laryngopathy, from GERD (gastro-oesophageal reflux), adenotonsillar hypertrophy.
Aerosol*
Aerosol therapy is a technique of administering drugs by inhalation through a nebulizer at room temperature. It can be performed with a nose adaptor (if there is good patency of the nasal cavities, the aerosol droplets reach the lower lung areas for humidification of the entire tracheobronchial tree) or with a mask (indicated for children and in situations where humidification of the upper airway is desired - combined with inhalation).
Sonic aerosol
Particular type of aerosol with water particles that are stimulated and set into vibration by an ultrasound source, then accelerated to allow them to better penetrate the respiratory tree and mucous membranes and reach the paranasal sinuses. Indicated in all forms of rhinosinusopathy, sinusopathy and rhinopharyngopathy.
Humage*
It is a "dry" aerosol suitable in all catarrhal forms as a complementary treatment after at least 2 moist treatments (inhalation-aerosol). Particularly indicated in asthmatic subjects, as it serves as an anti-inflammatory of the tracheobronchial tree and in cases of rhinogenic deafness is a valid complement to endotubar/politzer insufflation.
The inhalation treatment cycle includes an initial medical examination for the admission in our center and 24 inhalation treatments.

Thermal treatments are particularly recommended in pediatric age to prevent frequent respiratory tract disorders and mainly strengthen the immune system.
The inhalation unit of the Thermae Oasis thermal resort is the ideal environment for therapies to young patients: highly qualified and professional staff will assist your child, especially in the first approach with therapies. The proximity of our facility to the sea also allows you to benefit from the "sea aerosol" and climate change.
Particularly indicated for children suffering from chronic catarrhal otitis is the thermal treatment cycle for rhinogenic deafness.
There is an additional 10% discount on fee-based therapeutic programs

Mud baths are hyperthermal slimes obtained by mixing a solid part (clay) and a liquid part (thermal water), kept in contact for long periods (at least 6 months).
Muds containing sodium chloride, bromide and iodine have anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, relaxing, detoxifying, and revitalizing properties.
At Thermae Oasis, the mud is brought to a temperature of 45°- 47°C, ready to be applied to the skin where the joints are to be treated. The average time for a mud bathing session is 15 minutes, to be followed by showers with thermal water and bathing in a tub for one person of for groups.

Rhinogenous deafness treatments

- Hearing loss
- Oto/salpingitis/tubaritis
- Mixed hearing loss/rhinogenic deafness
- Tubal stenosis
- Tubaritis
- Tubotimpanitis
- Chronic catarrhal otitis/chronic purulent otitis
- Tubal catarrh
Rhinogenous deafness consists in a decrease in hearing that derives from inflammatory processes of the upper respiratory tract and in children it is frequently associated with an enlargement of the tonsils and adenoids.
The Rhinogenous Deafness treatment cycle includes a thorough specialist examination with an audio-impedance examination and the execution of endotympanic and/or politzer insufflations.
The endothympanic and politzer insufflations use exclusively the gas obtained from the thermal water, which is brought directly, through a special cannula, to the auditory pathways and middle ear. They ensure the ventilation of the tympanic cavity restoring the hearing loss, resolving and preventing the onset of inflammatory processes affecting the ear.
The gas of the thermal water within these very small cavities favours the restoration of the hearing ability, temporarily reduced, for example, in the case of colds.
This therapy is often indicated for children, because they easily present a hearing loss due to repeated colds and/or otitis.
The rhinogenous deafness cycle includes initial medical examination for the admission in our center, an audio/impedance examination, 12 inhalation treatments and 12 insufflations/politzer.

Treatment for peripheral vasculopathies
* Therapy under agreement with the NHS
Diagnosis under agreement:
- Late effects of chronic phlebopathy
- Chronic venous insufficiency (varicose veins)
- Outcomes of peripheral vascular surgery
- Chronic vasculopathy of the lower limbs (if venous)
- Functional vascular disorders
Water containing sodium chloride, bromide and iodine is particularly effective in all forms of vascular insufficiency, in post-phlebitic syndromes, in venous stasis and in lymphedema.
The thermal bath, in particular, is able to increase the tone of the small muscles supporting the veins of the lower limbs, improving their oxygenation, taking advantage in all this of the decongesting properties of the thermal waters, the beneficial effect of the hydromassage, and the thermal shock of the vascular pathway.
The cycle of hydromassage baths for chronic after-effects includes medical examination for the admission in our center, doppler, 12 baths with hydromassage in an individual jacuzzi.
Blood tests (Blood glucose, Triglycerides, Azotaemia, Uricemia, HDL and total cholesterol) are required upon admission
Blood tests may be provided by the client as long as they were completed less than 90 days ago.

The bromatological composition of the thermal waters favours the buoyancy of the body, facilitating the execution of movements and allowing muscle-tendon relaxation.
Thanks to these properties it is possible to perform motor rehabilitation cycles in patients with different types of trauma, as well as with rheumatological, neurological and congenital diseases.
The physiotherapist also uses manual methods to treat functional neuro-muscular skeletal disorders, after a thorough clinical examination of the locomotor system.
The rehabilitation protocol is established following the possible indications of the specialist (orthopaedic, neurologist, physiatrist). The rehabilitation process also uses electromedical equipment.
The Thermae Oasis Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation unit is equipped with:
